John started his career at age sixteen as a TV repairman – back in the old “tube jockey” days – when he discovered his natural aptitude for electronics. After a brief stint in the Viet Nam with the Army, John worked for ten years in various electronics positions and managing repair shops before joining Tandy Corporation in 1980, where his electronics aptitude was converted to world of computers. After several rapid promotions, John found that his increasing management responsibilities began to encroach on his ability to do what he loved best – work directly with clients, fixing things for them. It was then that John set his sight on starting his own company, and after sharpening his skills and obtaining several respected industry certifications, Shannon Associates was born.

Today, John remains committed to helping customers meet the challenges of an ever-changing marketplace with cutting edge technology and creative solutions. Living by the belief that business owners have enough to worry about without technology being one of them, John prides himself on having developed personal relationships with customers based on listening to their needs, active communication, and fair and honest business practices.
